

Edith Edna Parker Darrow of Ozark, AL., passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Rayburn Paramore in the Ewell Community. She was 89 years of age.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Reverend Bill Hix officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00am until 10:45am prior to the service on Friday.
Mrs. Darrow was born in Piedmont, AL., to the late Eugene S. and Dorothy M. Little Parker. She was raised in Piedmont until she met the love of her life, Master Sgt. Aubrey A. Darrow. They traveled for 33 years through his military career and upon retirement they made Ozark their home. She enjoyed all her duties as a military wife and also enjoyed cooking, quilting, baking wedding cakes and working with flowers. Mrs. Darrow was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and a member of the Matrons Study Club of Ozark.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Master Sgt. Aubrey A. Darrow; her parents; her sisters, Helen Parker, Gene Kerr, Mable Edgar and Bea Edgar; her brothers, Alvin, Henry and Ed Parker.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Paramore (Rayburn) of Ozark; her son, Robert Darrow (Winnie) of Lincoln, Ca.; her brother, George Parker of Ga.; five grandchildren, Jami Horne, Lynsey Devine, Shelley Young, Christopher Darrow and Leah O’Meara; also surviving are her 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paola Bass, Danita, Echo Rescue, Covenant Hospice, Dr. Melanie Nicholls, Kim Fields and Jinny. A very special thank you to Lisa Stokes and Patti “Cuz” Davis. Thank you all for your exceptional care, continued support and kind hearts.
