L.J. Peavy

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 25, 2013, in the chapel at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Reverend Roy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the Universalist Cemetery in Ariton with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 12:30pm until the time of service on Friday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Vanderbilt Holiness Church.

Mr. Peavy was born on April 21, 1933 in Dale County to Charlie Hampton and Ida Bell Sanders Peavy. He worked for Carter Manufacturing for 30 years.

Mr. Peavy was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maureen Cox; three brothers, Jim Lewis Peavy, A.B. Peavy, J.W. Peavy.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn M. Peavy of Ariton; two sisters, Vannie Bell Wambles of Ariton, Pauline Conner of Ozark; several nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
