Betty Lou Nielsen

Betty Lou Nielsen, 98 years old passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Betty Lou was born in Joliet, Illinois May 1, 1927, loving daughter of the late Frank and Matilda (Allard) Lindquist. Betty Lou Lindquist married the late Major Myles Ross Nielsen of Kankakee, Illinois September 1, 1962 in Joliet and moved to Palm Bay, Florida in 1974.

Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Matilda (Allard) Lindquist, brother Fred Wayne Lindquist, sister in law Janet L Lindquist.

Betty Lou leaves behind her beloved family, Kirk and Kimberly Lindquist (St. George), Corrine Lindquist, Erik Lindquist, Landon Lindquist, Jo and (Kirk) Doubet, Thomas and Diane Johnston, Nancy and Jim Thomas, Beloved Goddaughter Desiree Goodale Buttimer, and cousin BJ and (Jean) Goodale, and beloved friend who cared for her, and Betty Lou's family Holly Walsh and prior Lynn Hewitt.

Betty Lou has been a long time devoted member of Joy Lutheran Church in Palm Bay, Florida. Betty Lou was loved by all and a friend to anyone she encountered. She loved golfing, quilting with friends at Joy Lutheran Church every Tuesday morning and knitting with them every Wednesday morning. She also loved playing cards with her late friend Anna Carmada. Betty Lou was always on the go and never could sit idle; her favorite quote was that she had a full day. She was the most fashionable 98 year old woman and loved shopping for sales and was a big Chicago Cubs fan. Betty Lou Nielsen loved her family and friends fiercely; she was the most giving and generous person you could know and to all who met her. Love you forever Dear Aunt Betty Lou! We are going to miss her so very much.

The family would like to also thank St. Francis Hospice for all of their loving care and support, and nurses Connie and Lakesha at Brookdale Assisted Living for their deep care and close eyes on our beloved Aunt Betty Lou.
