

She was one of three children of Don and Helen Walden, raised in Fremont, Ohio. She played the drums in her high school band, where she met her husband of 63 years, Eddie. She attended secretarial school in Tiffin, Ohio, while she waited for Eddie to return from Okinawa during WWII. They married in July 1945 and after giving birth to Christine and Randy, moved to Norwalk, Ohio, where they opened their own carpet sales and floor covering business. She also worked for Ohio Gas Company and Sears Credit Department. Community-minded, she led a Girl Scout troop, supported City Recreation activities, and served as a band booster. She and Eddie moved to Florida in 1976 to be near their daughter.
Her great joys included traveling throughout the US with her husband, being a loving support for her family, producing neighborhood plays with her grandchildren, crafting for Meals on Wheels, and listening to her husband’s music concerts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie and her daughter Christine. She is survived by her son, Randy (Judy) Miller. She was a proud “Gram” to: Major (Ret) Jeffrey, (Kim) Miller, Eric (Lori) Miller, Donnie (Jill) Miller, and Julie (Ransom) Kent and also a loving “Great Gram” to her 10 great grandchildren.
A 42-year resident of West Melbourne, she worked for Goldfield Corporation and supported her Laila Park neighborhood.
Date of internment at Fountainhead is to be determined in conjunction with a memorial service at her place of residence for the last 5 years, Brookdale of Melbourne.
