Charles Dwight England, born on January 1, 1935 in Zanesville, OH, passed away peacefully at home in Palm Bay, FL on May 16, 2016. He is survived by his very beloved and loving wife of 46 years, Veronica (Minich); son, Paul; grandchildren, Paul and Jessica; four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marlene (England) and Rosemary (Klosterman); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Virginia, and his brother, Lewis.
Chuck graduated from high school in Akron, OH, and attended the University of Akron. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1957, after which he enjoyed a 30-year career as a civil engineer for the Florida State Dept. of Transportation, followed by 6 years at Stottler and Stagg Engineering. He was always interested in technology and was a first adopter of most computers and electronics; he was also a long-time CB (ham) radio operator.
Chuck was a relentlessly cheerful, optimistic and good-hearted individual who made the world a better place not just physically with his engineering designs, but through his great sense of humor and great depth of love, generosity and kindness. Graveside services will be held at Fountainhead Memorial Park on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 2PM.
