

She was born 12/1/34 in Boone, NC to Chester and Mary H. Duncan. Her family moved to D.C. in 1935 where she grew up enjoying gymnastics, playing piano, sewing and girl scouts.
She met Charles S. Walters at the University of Maryland and married 4/20/1954. They moved to Plantation, FL in 1966 to enjoy boating, flying and the beach. She enjoyed being a homemaker, her pets and hobbies of sewing, baking, piano and bridge.
She gave of herself to many organizations including W. Broward Symphony Guild, Girl Scouts, Home Room Parent and weekly pianist for the Primary Children’s Sunday School.
Her husband of 45 years preceded her in death. She leaves her sweet legacy of memories to her children Brenda, Sharon (Gary), Craig (Mary) and Scott (Lynn) six grandchildren Angie, Sean, Mick, Caitlin, Alec and Duncan and great- grandchildren Callie and Clay. She was loved by her sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Tom Powers, and will be missed by cousins including Kathryn Morris and Benjamin Horton.
Friends and family are invited to the memorial service at Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, Chevy Chase, MD on 5/11 at 3:30pm. Funeral service will be held at Fountainhead Memorial in Palm Bay, FL on Tuesday May 16 at 2pm by Pastor Elmer Floyd with a family gravesite service at 3:30pm.
Dorothy lived her life with elegance and grace. She truly loved and blessed all who were part of her life.
