James was born on March 9, 1948, son of the late Zenon and Veronica Wicinski in Hartford, Connecticut. He was a Purple Heart Vietnam veteran and Hartford police officer, who proudly served the U.S. Marines and citizens of Connecticut. Born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, he was a true friend and hero.
He was the loving husband to the late Renata Wicinski and wonderful father to the late Justin Wakefield and to Amy Veronica Wicinski. Besides Amy, he leaves his sisters Janet Wicinski Connelly and Anne Wicinski Azzarello. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Vietnam veteran, husband, father, brother, uncle, storyteller, sports fan, golfer, classic movie buff, and a loyal friend to many, Jimmy will be sorely missed. He had a heart of gold and brought smiles to the faces of many.
