

Jean Paul "Frenchy" Darveau, age 82 of Palm Bay, FL, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. He was born on June 1, 1941, in Saint Joseph-de-Ham-Sud, Province of Quebec, Canada. Jean was a beloved Dad, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend, known for his warm and welcoming personality.
Jean had a strong sense of community and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 394 in Palm Bay, Florida. He cherished the friendships he made there. Jean also had a passion for his bar, James Pub on Main where he enjoyed gathering with friends. He was a regular patron of Aruba, where he spent many Februarys building lasting relationships.
One of Jean's greatest joys was watching his grandson play baseball. He was always there, cheering him on from the sidelines. Jean also loved going out eat and exploring different cuisines. He had a discerning palate and appreciated good food.
In his younger days, Jean served in the Army Corp of Engineers in Vietnam from January 4, 1966, to December 27, 1967. His military service was a testament to his dedication and commitment.
Professionally, Jean was a successful entrepreneur. He owned and ran three business throughout his life. He was the proud owner of JP Construction, where he built houses. He also operated JD Drywall, specializing in commercial buildings. Later on, Jean opened James Bar on Main, a popular sports bar in the community.
Jean had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time at Cape Cod's Race Point Beach, taking in the beauty of the coast. He also had a passion for hunting in the Berkshire Mountains and Canada.
Jean is survived by his loving daughter, Denise Brogan, and son-in-law, Donald Brogan, both of Palm Bay, FL. He leaves behind his cherished grandson, James Brogan, and granddaughter, Taylor Brogan, of Palm Bay, FL, and Brighten, MA, respectively. Jean is also survived by his nieces, Helen (Darveau) Farmer of CT and Diane (Darveau) Daley of CT and nephews Michael Darveau of North Smithfield, RI, Dennis Darveau of North Smithfield, RI, and Robert (Bobby) Darveau of CT.
Jean was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Darveau, of Woonsocket, RI, and his parents, Lucienne (Paiment) Darveau and Arthur Darveau, both of Sherbrooke, Canada.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Fountainhead Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Palm Bay, FL.
