

Palm Bay
Joseph Earl Isom received the greatest gift from God when he inherited eternal life on January 13, 2013, at his home in Palm Bay, Florida with his family at his side.
He was born January 27, 1931 in Autryville, Georgia to Joseph and Mary Jane Isom.
Earl graduated from Quitman High School in Georgia. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sally, and four children; Debbie Lucas and her husband John, Mike Isom and his wife Debbie, Nancy Holder and her husband Steve, Melinda Corns and her husband Dean. Earl's children then blessed he and Sally with ten wonderful Grandchildren; Brant, Kelly and husband Matt, Chris, Ryan, Scott and wife Jessica, Tiphani, Traci and Tyler, eight Great Grandchildren; Christian, Chandler, Ethan, Anna, Jeslyn, Ruby, Violet and Simon; and several Grand Dogs.
Earl is also survived by his sister Rosetta Milton and husband Leroy of Longwood, Florida; his brother in-law Charles Reeves, who was like a brother to him, and his wife Mary, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; ex son-in-law Marty Marsh; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by two brothers Cecil Isom and Charles Isom, one sister, Doris Taylor and her husband Otis one brother-in-law, Dick Clucas, and also mother-in-law, Helen Reeves. Thankfully, still with us are three sister-in-laws; Cecils' wife, Myrtice Isom of Frostproof, Florida; Charles' wife Elaine Isom of Palatka, Florida; and Dicks' wife Shirlee Clucas of Cleveland, Ohio.
Earl served as a Fire Fighter with Pan Am at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station for 41 years before he retired. He was also a self employed contractor who built many homes and business in Brevard County.
His Christian faith was very dear to him, and he gladly served in several churches. He was a Lay Pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church and was intrumental at starting two other churches in the Melbourne area.
He was known to be one of the kindest men you would ever meet, and would help anyone who was truly in need.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Calvary Chapel of Melbourne's Viera campus, which is located at 2852 Fellowship Place (across from Viera High School) in Viera. Earl's request was that people dress casual.
His arrangements are entrusted to Fountainhead Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosipce of Health First, 1900 Dairy Road, Melbourne, 32904.
