Grandpa...how can I explain the emptiness I feel? It seems like just yesterday we were at the jewelry store picking out a beautiful sterling silver ring with my birthstone in it for my 19th birthday. And then,  somewhere on the cold night air on July 21st, 2021, I lost my grandpa. Just like that. I feel like I was clinging to your hand, and the night just came and took you away, and I was left alone. I remember my first day of college all those years ago. The campus was so big, and at the end of the day, when classes were over, I got lost. I wandered around the campus, frightened, and feeling so small. Then I heard your voice somewhere close by. You were asking "has anyone seen my granddaughter?" and describing me to everyone who went by. I rounded the corner, and there you were, and I was never happier to see you than I was then. Tonight, I feel just like I did that afternoon. Lost. Alone. Sad. Except, this time, there is no grandpa to come and find me. I miss you. I love you. ♥️

Uncle Kelvin was a great man and a patriarch of our family. I will always remember the kindness he showed toward our family from the first time we visited the US when he was living in NY.  He also openly welcomed us to his home in Florida.  My mom Noreen had many long talks with him when she was in Florida and also when we are back home in Trinidad. My father Errol and Uncle Kelvin spoke about building projects and cars, sports you name it. Always when coming to visit Florida he would buy an Express, Guardian and Newsday newspaper for Uncle Kelvin to read. My Brother Dwain used to enjoy talking to him as well. We have many precious memories and we will continue to treasure them. We grieve over his death, but we know he is with the Lord. And in this we find comfort and peace.

I am Maria's sister. From the time that I met the Dixon family, they have been so endearing to us. My heart is saddened for the passing of such a pleasant, kind and generous person. Prayers will continue to go up for Mrs. Dixon and the entire Dixon family.  There is no distance in prayer. Peace and Comfort

I first met Mr  Kelvin Dixon through his granddaughter Danielle when she was staying with him. I spoke to him over the phone and immediately was drawn to his warm sense of humour and kindness. We'd often chat about how school was going for me, I was finishing up my last year of A levels, how church was going and how the weather was in Florida and Trinidad. He'd give me good advice on how to manage my time and studies encouraging me to pursue further education in Florida, promising to make sure I felt at home. Much like his daughter, Ms Deborah Dixon his laugh and cheerful attitude was infectious always easing my mind when I'd worry about my friend, his granddaughter Danielle. I will always remember him and thankful for knowing him in some way. To his family my deepest and most sincerest condolences. God took his son home to rest. Till we meet again Mr Kelvin Dixon.

Uncle Kelvin you will be missed you always took pride in when we called you professor-- Fly with the angels  Minerva, Alexis and Aliea
