

Owen Wilmot was born October 21, 1943, to Charlotte Blake and Samuel Wilmot. He is pre-deceased by both of his parents. He is also pre-deceased by his wife Olive Wilmot, whom he married on June 25, 1991. He is survived by his three daughters Cyndal Wilmot of Stamford, CT, Angiel Toney of Ashburn, VA, and Dawn Wilmot of Norwalk CT. Son-in-Law Deryck Toney of Ashburn, VA. Grandchildren Kevin Wilson, Melinda Rankine of Stamford CT & Jonathon McClain, and Monique McClain of Norwalk, CT. Deryck I. Toney and Arielle Toney of Ashburn, VA. Great-grandchildren Marco Bender and Mason Bender of Stamford, CT. & Bentley Rhule of Norwalk, CT.
Owen was a messenger driver in Jamaica for University of West Indies Mona Campus. He married his first wife Esmie Andrews in Jamaica on May 23, 1964. They migrated to the United States in 1968. He got his first job delivering furniture. In 1970 he began working as a dishwasher at Weinerwald Restaurant in Times Square, NY, rising to head chef until the restaurant closed. He then worked for ArchCare at Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center until his retirement, when he moved to Florida until his final days.
Although Owen did not achieve higher education, he had investments, including rental property, surpassing the average citizen. His work ethic was exemplary.
His passions were cooking Jamaican food and tending to his garden and his yard. He loved sharing the fruits of his labor with his family and friends as he always had plenty to go around. Owen loved his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
