I knew Uncle Raymond for 70+ years. Wonderful memories: him and Aunt Odell playing guitar and singing hymns; telling jokes and funny stories or playing jokes on others; his quiet prayers so much like Granddad's always were. Such a wonderful man, good father, great Christian. His character and demeanor affected and influenced my life and my own Christian walk in many ways. Would that all men could be such a great influence on our younger generation. Yes, he will be greatly missed; and though we miss him and pray for earthly comfort for Wayne, Carla, and all the remaining family, we rejoice in knowing that he has entered into his eternal reward and is rejoicing at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ -- along with Aunt Odell, his Mom and Dad and brothers, and so many others that went on before him. 

We sure learned to love Ray. Enjoyed talking with him, hearing him sing songs that he had written and just enjoyed playing music with him and being around him. He will be missed. Wayne, our condolences go out to you and your family.

Wayne and all the family -
I have fond memories of both Raymond and Odell during my high school days when they led our youth group. I'm much older now than they were then! I will never forget their love, friendship and leadership and all the fun times we had. What a long, rich life and what a spiritual legacy he leaves behind! My love, thoughts and prayers.


Such a wonderful part of my childhood growing up in Fellsmere, He was our mail man.  We loved him like family.  Our deepest sympathy to the family.

A wonderful Christian example his whole life.  Such a happy and peace filled man♡

To Ray’s family,
So very sorry to hear of his passing.
Ray was such a gentleman and was well thought of by all his “music family” at the Roseland jam.  He sang some very beautiful songs and especially the one he penned himself.
We will miss his company, his music and the joy he shared with us being part of this unique group.

RIP Raymond... what a celebration you must  be having with all those in heaven...I'm sure they were glad to see you...you will be greatly missed but know you are in a better place...I have a lot of wonderful memories with you and family...maybe will see you soon!!

I will never forget walking into church  and seeing your dad's smiling face  at the podium directing songs or talking to somebody. He was just somebody you knew  cared about you and had a great love for Jesus and wanted to help others know Jesus too. There must be a grand heavenly celebration for another sinner come home. Good bye my dear brother in Christ 'till I see you in heaven.

RIP UNCLE RAYMOND. YOU WAS SUCH A GREAT MAN AND SO MUCH FUN TO BE AROUND WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL. I KNOW YOU ARE PROBABLY REJOICING WHILE WALKING DOWN THE STREETS OF GOLD. SAY HELLO TO DADDY FOR ME AND WE WILL SEE YA AGAIN SOMEDAY.
