Mrs. Rema Agatha Whittaker died Monday, November 19th 2012 at her home in Palm Bay. Rema was preceded in death by her loving husband Astor R. Whittaker in 1994. She was born in Kingston Jamaica May 25th, 1928. She moved to England with her husband Astor R. Whittaker in the 1950’s. She later migrated to the United States, and resided in the Bronx New York from 1979 until she retired in 1993 and moved to Palm Bay.
She worked as a Nurse, and Midwife in England and in New York. She enjoyed singing, gardening, and volunteering her time to assist the elderly. She was a member of Melbourne Baptist Church where her angelic voice was shared with the congregation as a faithful choir member.
Rema is survived by her daughter, Audrey E. Lindsay of Houston, TX; her son Wayne P. Whittaker of Bronx, NY; her grandchildren Marcellus S. Lindsay (wife Janet) of Birmingham, England; Marsha N. Lindsay of Houston, TX; Romord A. Lindsay of London, England; her great-grandchildren Britainy R. Lindsay of Houston, TX; and Lindsay Studwood. She leaves a host of family, and friends to celebrate her life and legacy.
