He was born on January 24, 1940, in Youngstown, Ohio, where he grew up and graduated from The Rayen High School in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Judith (Hendricks), in 1960. They had three “entertaining” children— Ronald Lance (Patricia), Richard Mark (Susan), and Lori Mynheir (Mark), eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Ron held several jobs in his career, mostly in sales, which led to a position with Industrial Roofing, and after working for them for several years, he was asked to relocate to Florida and manage a newly acquired company in the Palm Bay/Melbourne area—Commercial Roofing. Ron eventually purchased the company, and it thrived under his leadership, and he worked hard to care for his employees and their families. He made Commercial Roofing a family business.
As a teenager, he learned to play the accordion and enjoyed playing music and dancing polkas with his wife. Ron loved bowling, softball, golf, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He enjoyed planning trips as much as participating in them. He loved discussing (and, at times, arguing) theology with his family and friends. His eclectic sense of humor, sometimes edgy, sometimes very funny, always kept us on our toes. Ron’s passion for life, his family, and the Lord radiated from him every day, and we all will miss him so very much until we are reunited again.
He is predeceased by his mother, Mary Murzda, father, William R. Mitchell, grandson, Christopher Mynheir, and great grandson, Jordan Milner. We miss them all greatly!
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 1:30pm at Peace Lutheran Church located at 1801 Port Malabar Boulevard, Palm Bay, Florida 32905. A small reception will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made either to Samaritan’s Purse or to the charity of their choosing.
