Susie Ann Herdman, 79, of Melbourne died Thursday (7/25) at her home. She was born in Plymouth, West Virginia on Feb. 20, 1934. Susie was a dedicated wife and mother who loved spending time with her family. She grew up in Nitro, West Virginia and moved to Melbourne with her husband and sons in 1962. She worked as an electronics assembler at Geospace and Helper Instruments before retiring in 1993. She enjoyed watching sporting events, visiting Walt Disney World, and traveling to West Virginia to see family and friends.
Susie is survived by her husband of 58 years: Dwight, two sons: Tim and Tony both of Melbourne. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Effie Crawford; a brother: Harold W. Crawford, Sr., and two sisters: Emogene Blankenship and Eleanor (Tootsie) Snodgrass. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday (7/29) noon in the Fountainhead Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until time of service. Entombment will follow in Fountainhead Memorial Park.
