Tom was born in Lawrence, Kentucky on March 3, 1924 to his parents Odd and Alice Clifton Clay
.
He was a Vehicle Assemblyman for General Motors in Norwood, Ohio and retired after 30 years with the company.
Tom loved to fish and spend time with Catty his cat.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ernestine Davis Clay; daughters Darlene Clay Angel and Brenda Lee Clay; brothers Charles Clay and Vernon Clay and his sister Ruth.
Tom is survived by daughters Shirley Clay Bolton (Gary) of Melbourne, Florida and Linda Clay Angel (Robin) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; son Donald Clay of Melbourne, Florida; daughter Paula Clay (Chris) of Frenchburg, Kentucky; son-in-law Gary Angel; brother Red Clay of Dwale, Kentucky; sisters Vernie Clay, Ruby Clay and Phyllis Fields all of Dwale, Kentucky; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
