Viola Abrahamsen, 90, of Melbourne, FL went home to be with our Lord Wednesday, February 3, 2016. She was born in Queens, NY July 17, 1925, later moved to Merrick, Long Island (1947) and enjoyed her retirement years here in Melbourne, Florida (1984).
Viola married Rod in 1945 and they built their life around their family. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved holidays and backyard BBQ’s with family and friends, travelling, bowling and playing cards. Rod predeceased her in 2001 after 56 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter Diane (Rick) Kaiser and son Rod (Karon) Abrahamsen, her 5 grandchildren Kelly (Dallas), Kathleen (Terry), Timothy (Stephanie), Patrick (Debra Lea) and Sarah (Donald), her 6 great-grandchildren Anthony, Rebecca, Tristan, Celina, Bowen and Corbin.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Fellowship Church, 2820 Business Center Blvd, Melbourne on Friday, February 12th at 1pm. Donations in lieu of flowers should be made to Indian River Center Resident Council Fund, 7201 Greensboro Drive, Melbourne, FL 32901.
