William died Sept. 21st 2011 at the Life Care Center of Palm Bay, Florida where he was well cared for by many outstanding individuals
He was born and raised in Tiffin Ohio to Clara Wisenberger Kuhn and Joseph J. Kuhn on Jan. 12,1920.
William was a loving husband to Dorothy Kuhn For over 20 years,and a devoted father to Joseph of Rockport Maine and daughter Jeanne
of Schuylerville New York.
William was predeceased by a Son William and a daughter Patty.
William was a proud grandfather to Emily, Lucas William, and Jayson Josey Kuhn of Rockport Maine, and Jamie and Austin Iuliano of
Schuylerville NY.
William grew up With Siblings Maurice, Eileen, Mary, Dolores, Jeanne, and Sister Mary Evelyn and he had many nieces and nephews .He loved his siblings and spoke of them often.
His sister Mary's children (Pat and Cathy), sister Eileen's children (Tom ,Steve, Sandy, and Terry).His sister Dolores Children (Tim, Bruce, Joe Sue and Jeanne)
His sister Patty's children (Mike and Karen), and his sister Jeanne children (Cherry and Anne) and his special sidekick Chris.
William had many friends through the years. In his latter days he remained in close contact with Howard, Walter, Tom, Dianne, Peggy and Jerry.
William left Ohio to serve in the Navy in WW ll. He was stationed on Battleships in the South Pacific where he served with distinction as a Sergeant of Arms
operating an anti aircraft battery. He participated in many battles and was wounded in battle in the Solomon Islands. After the war William continued his Navy service first at the Brooklyn Navy yard in New York, then at the Philadelphia Navy yard and finally at the National Aeronautical Station in Lakehurst New Jersey. William raised three children to adulthood and was a very dedicated father and provider. The condition of his children's mental, physical, and spiritual welfare was always foremost in his mind
William retired having served for 30 years in 1980, and moved from Berlin New Jersey to Palm Bay Florida where he enjoyed a wonderful life with his wife and companion of 20 years Dorothy .They resided at the Country Club Vista in Palm Bay.
William was a member of Saint Joseph's and later Our Lady of Grace Catholic church of Palm Bay. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and
The Veterans of Foreign Wars.
William was a very gentle, honest, decent, and generous man. He was a very proud and loving father, a loyal and deeply devoted husband, a genuinely caring brother and uncle, and a deeply devout Catholic. William passed quietly at 3AM on September 21st having had last rites from a priest at 12 midnight.
At William's request, a small private ceremony will be held in his honor and in keeping with Navy tradition his ashes will be scattered at sea.
