Meme Hieneman, age 55, of Palm Harbor, Florida passed away on August 5th in the loving arms of her husband Brad and her two sons. Meme is survived by Brad; her two sons, Jake and Steven; her parents, Burt and Peggy, her siblings, Doug, Michelle, and Patti; her in-laws, Ruth and Reid; her dog Trudy, and lots of wonderful friends and colleagues.
Meme lived a full and productive life. She loved her family with every ounce of her being. She was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan and hated Donald Trump. Although she battled cancer for many years, she remained fully engaged, creating beautiful memories with her loved ones. She was strong, and looked for humor and poignancy in everything. She shared her journey in a way that inspired other people.
Meme was passionate about her work. She led an international nonprofit organization to promote positive behavior support, taught Master’s level applied behavior analysis courses, engaged in research, consulted with agencies, and wrote and presented extensively. Her work was impactful in helping people with behavioral challenges and their families.
A small, informal celebration of life will be held at Palm Harbor Life Celebration Centre at 1pm Saturday, August 14 with online attendance available. In lieu of flowers, Meme preferred donations be made one of the following; Home and Community PBS Network, Death with Dignity or Suncoast Hospice.
