About 14 years ago my daughter participated in a study Meme was doing about positive behavioral support. Her help and advice was invaluable, at a time our family was struggling. 

I have always thought very highly of her and am very sorry to read of her loss. There's little that can be said at times such as this, but maybe knowing what a widespread and long-reaching impact she had on others will help to bring you some comfort.

I am writing to let you know how deeply sorry I am and that I have been keeping your family in my thoughts.  Meme was a mentor to me and I learned so much from her. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from her wisdom and compassion and sense of humor... and the unique grounded perspective she brings. She shared so much professionally, and when I became a parent myself, we spent time discussing what it meant to be a parent. It was clear to me from those conversations how much she truly loved being a mother and how proud she was of her family. I truly idolized her, as she was exactly the type of professional and parent I aspire to be. She is one of those rare individuals who made the world a better place.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Mimi. Our thoughts and prayers are with you

Brad, I am so sorry to hear of Meme’s passing, and I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you all.  I know you all have many wonderful memories to think of and I hope it brings you great comfort during this difficult time.   Ramona Herald 

Meme was in my doctoral cohort...post grad hired her as consultant on team development in wraparound when I was working with a CMHI grant in Chicago…..She was so sharp! As doc students, we created great fun when a newly assigned instructor from another department made no attempt to inquire or understand who we were... To address a rather droll assignment, Meme and I devised a cohort project that addressed its content but also implicitly let the instructor know we were all pretty damned bright, and in our second year of required doctoral course work, were not going to regurgitate a make-do assignment…. we created a board game based on Winnie the Pooh and all the characters from Milne’s book to discuss paradigms and philosophy of education... organized it around the instructor’s ignorance of our cohort and the culture that we’d developed… ha ha ha…


The world became a much better place the day I met Meme.  Even though I only had a few months with her she made such a positive impact that will last forever.  Her smile, her laugh, her caring heart and sweet spirit will be what I remember!!  I loved looking through the pictures that were shared on here because they truly reflect what I imagine her life to be like!!  In the short time spent with her I found her to be so humble in all her accomplishments and so very proud of her family!!  My deepest sympathy goes out to Brad, Jake and Steven - in her world you were her greatest accomplishment!!  💜🦋

Thank you, Meme and Brad, for loving my daughter, Madelyn, as if she was your own. Meme, you have been like mother to her, which we are both forever grateful for.  You have provided her with love, laughs, guidance, support, and confidence. Like so many people you have come in contact with, Madelyn will continue to emulate all you have taught her throughout her life and all the lives she will touch in this world.

Meme made the world a better place in so many ways. I got to know her as a professional colleague. She was a tireless worker, dynamic presenter, and prolific writer dedicated to improving the lives of many children, families, teachers and other professionals. In all of her work, she emphasized the need for positive approaches to behavior change. It was a pleasure to know Meme. I am saddened by her passing. But because I think she'd want it this way, I am focusing on positive memories of her and her many accomplishments. 

I'm so sad to learn of Meme's passing. She worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for individuals with challenging behavior. Not only is she a role model for PBS and academic dissemination, she was a model of grace and positivity. Prayers for the family during this difficult time.

Over the 20 plus years we worked and sometimes played together, Meme was such a wonderful mentor, advocate, visionary, and inspiration to all who knew her.
The caring she showed to children and families was immeasurable, and her contribution to PBS forever changed the field, improving the lives of so many, and it will continue to do so in her legacy.
What outshines all the immense contributions she provided to her work, was her love for Brad and “her boys”.
I will always be so grateful that I was able to create with her and to see so many ideas become tangible in our work together.  But mostly, I am grateful that Meme was a part of my life.
She impacted both my professional and personal path in the world with her insight, passion and especially her sense of humor.
I will always fondly remember Meme’s laughter that filled the room and made everyone smile.

I remember the first time I met Meme. I was in graduate school, and she came to our classroom to talk about Positive Behavior Supports and introduce a fellowship. Without a beat, she walked up to the front of the class on the phone, said "Goodbye", and started talking to us about the strengths of PBS. This was the Meme I knew, the one who was direct, focused on families, and focused on your growth. The one who could multi-task like crazy, and everything that came from her was thought out and inspiring. Meme, thank you for sharing your ideas with the world. You are absolutely incredible, and will be missed. 

My condolences to Meme's family and friends. She was the best of the best, in life and in our profession. 

I am so sorry to learn of Meme's passing.  She was a colleague and mentor to me when I worked at USF.  She was a beautiful person inside and out.  My condolences to her family, husband and her boys.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.  

Meme taught me so much about professional development and parent training. She was a smart, kind, caring and driven woman. I spoke to her last week and thanked her for being an amazing person. I also said I could add brave, courageous and strong to my list of adjectives to describe her. I now can say she taught me how to live and pass through this life with grace and dignity. She will be greatly missed by so many people whose lives she touched.  I trust she will continue to make a difference on this earth from heaven. 

I’m so distressed to learn that Meme has passed.  I knew her in our doctoral program at USF where she was a vivacious part of our cohort.  Meme’s head was led by her enormous heart; her work to serve individuals in marginalized circumstances to improve their quality of life had significant impact on the lives of so many.  My thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues at this difficult time.  🙏🏻
