Butch was born on October 29, 1960, to Mary Ann and George Thaler in Los Angeles, CA.
After Butch graduated from Hart High School in 1979, he went on to work in the oil fields with JMT Oil Company.
In 1981, Butch met Barbara Wenrich at a Square Dance class in Van Nuys. They married in 1982 and went on to have 2 beautiful children. Butch had a long career working in processing plants. His last position was as Maintenance Supervisor at National Cement, where he worked for 22 years. He was medically retired, due to a severe stroke in 2020.
Butch enjoyed square dancing in his younger years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, riding dirt bikes, off roading, and taking the wave runner out to the lake. After the stroke, he was not able to enjoy the active lifestyle he was accustomed to, however, he and Barbara took advantage of traveling to the beach, road trips, and going on cruises. He also enjoyed being involved with the grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Butch was a generous and caring person. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann and George, son, Jeremy. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Brittany (Kenny); daughter in law, Monica; five grandchildren; Sisters, Cheryl, MaryJo (Mike) and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Butch will be greatly missed by so many friends and family, but we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer in constant pain, and is now in heaven with his son, Jeremy and all those that have gone before him.
