
Guillermo Woods, a humorous, adventurous, and wise man, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on May 7, 1930, in Havana, Cuba, Guillermo was known for his bravery, hard work, resilience, and loyalty. He loved his Cuban music. His top artist, Daniel Santos.
Guillermo was highly educated in political science, a field that remained his first love throughout his life. He retired as a supervisor in paper manufacturing, having dedicated many years to this industry.
Guillermo was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Gladys Woods; his sister, Geraldine Woods; Clara L. Torres, Maria Del Carmen Woods; and his brothers, Juan Woods and Gerald Woods. He is survived by his son, Andres Woods, his grandchildren, and his sister, Doris Duar.
In his personal life, Guillermo loved to travel and be outdoors. His favorite hobby was photography, and he had a deep love for history, always precise with any historical dates. He was also involved in Club Cubano in New York, where he contributed to his community.
Guillermo fought for his beloved Cuba and had a big heart for his Cuban people. He was part of the militia in Cuba, demonstrating his commitment and loyalty to his homeland and people.
As we remember Guillermo, we hold onto his final words: "Cuba Libre."
