

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert J. Roberts. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Donna Roberts and her husband, Dick Mullikin; his sister, Ceann Wombacher and her husband, John; his nieces and nephew, Allison, Elizabeth, Michael and Emily Williams and her husband, Sean, and their children.
Rob attended City High School in Iowa City and went on to study at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he was an active member of the Scuba Club. His passion for scuba diving led him to Marathon, Florida, and Hall’s Dive Shop, which opened the door to a remarkable career with Princess Cruises. Over more than 30 years of dedicated service, he began as a Scuba Instructor, advanced to Shore Excursions, and ultimately achieved the position of Director, Business Administration Port Operations. Rob was a cherished member of the team, playing an instrumental role in its success. He left a lasting impact on the organization’s culture and on the many colleagues he worked alongside each day. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, fortitude, and an unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand.
Outside of his professional life, Rob’s adventurous spirit truly soared, both figuratively and literally. A passionate and accomplished skydiver, he was a proud member of the Skydive Perris family. In just six years, he completed an extraordinary 4,200 skydives. He earned both his Tandem and AFF ratings and competed at the national level with the United States Parachute Association (USPA), participating in 4-way Nationals for five years and 8-way Nationals for three years. As a Perris load organizer, Rob was deeply committed to mentoring new skydivers, helping them build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the sport while always emphasizing safety and fun. His enthusiasm for skydiving reflected the way he approached life, with courage, joy, and an open heart.
Rob’s legacy is one of kindness, strength, adventure, and service. Whether in the workplace, thousands of feet above the ground, or gathered with family and friends, he gave his very best to others. He will be remembered for his steady presence, generous spirit, and the countless lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
