Rusty Shawn Eutsler was born on August 20, 1961 to Robert Lee Eutsler and Carole Maurina (Shoults) Eutsler in Panama, Florida. Rusty’s dad was in the Navy and his family lived in many places across the country during his childhood. They eventually landed in San Diego, California where Rusty attended and graduated from High School and then settled in Simi Valley, California. Shortly after moving to Simi Valley Rusty began attending Simi Valley Grace Brethren Church where he met his future wife Jullie. Rusty and Jullie were married on June 11, 1983 and began a life together.
Rusty always had a love for cars and found his talent in automobile mechanics and service. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed helping people take care of their cars. Throughout Rusty’s adult life there was really not much he couldn’t do. He not only made sure everyone had a safe and running vehicle he learned to do most everything that was needed to make a house a home. He also took an interest in sound engineering and helped operate the sound systems in several large churches.
Rusty and Jullie were blessed to have two sons, Casey Shawn Eutsler in 1987 and Colby Aaron Eutsler in 1991. Rusty eventually made a decision to be a stay-at-home dad when Colby was 2 years old. Rusty often said that his greatest accomplishment was the time he spent actively raising his boys. Rusty enjoyed the beach and the mountains. He spent many weekends and summers with his family camping and exploring. Rusty, Jullie and the boys also had an opportunity to take a month long road trip around the western United States. There were also many adventures with family and friends.
As Casey and Colby got older Rusty took up a new hobby buying and selling auction cars. Rusty loved going to the auctions and was always looking for a great deal. Numerous friends and family members benefitted from the deals Rusty found. Rusty also developed several lasting friendships as a result.
On November 20, 2008, grandson Brian Ransom Eutsler entered the world and Papa Rusty was born. As he did with his own boys, Rusty took an active role in helping to care for Brian. An unbreakable bond was formed and Brian brightened Rusty’s life. There were many vacations, trips, and weekend visits at grandma and grandpas house and Rusty was always available to share in Brian’s life and guide him towards his teen years.
On August 30, 2021 as the sun was rising over the horizon, Rusty Shawn Eutsler left this world after a short battle with a very aggressive infection. Rusty had a strong belief in God and was a born again Christian. He did not believe that death was the end – rather the beginning of an eternity in heaven and a reuniting with friends and family that have gone before. Rusty joins his son Casey Eutsler, mother Carole Eutsler, brother Roger Eutsler, Jullie’s grandparents Sylvia “GG” and John “PA” Box and many other friends and family waiting to help receive him into heaven. Left behind to remember his life are his wife Jullie Eutsler and son Colby Eutsler, daughter-in-law Brittany Blair and grandson Brian Eutsler, father Bob Eutsler, brother Randy Eutsler, sister Tonya Stevens, husband Rod and their children Wes, Ryan and Kaylee. In-laws John and Patty Poston, brother-in-law David Poston, wife Christine and their children Shane and Brianne and a host of extended family and friends.
Rusty took care of the people in his life. He seemed to know what his people needed before they even knew there was a need. Rusty was always available to lend a hand, lend his ear, or do whatever was needed to help keep his family and friends taken care of. He will be forever remembered and forever missed.
