Agnes Gregory Nevin

Bobbie, daughter of Reed and Marie (Cahill) Gregory, was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Flushing, NY. She married John W. Nevin in 1951 and together they had five daughters. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Nevin Meloro and her husband, Peter Meloro; Maura Nevin Gustafson and her husband, H. Robert Gustafson; Marie Nevin; Andrea Nevin Lynch and her husband, Mark Lynch; and Ellen Nevin O’Shea and her husband, John O’Shea. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Ellen Gustafson (Michael Campbell), Meaghan Lynch (Cassidy McGrath), Kate Lynch Williams (Andrew Williams), Kurt Messemer (Grace Lieberman Messemer), Julia Messemer (Josh Tomkiewicz) and Jeanne Lynch, and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John, her brother, Edward Gregory, and her sisters, Joan Gregory Franks and Audrey Gregory Hagemaier. She survived, as well, by her brother-in-law, John M. Franks, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her daughters will particularly miss her each time they watch Jeopardy or play Trivial Pursuits! She was loved by all who knew her.

Bobbie graduated from the College of New Rochelle before she married, and then from Columbia University School of Social Work in the early 1970’s while raising her family. She devoted much of her professional life to the well-being of children in foster care in NYC.

Services will be private, given the continuing challenges of the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to Planned Parenthood of Chester County, PA., World Central Kitchen, or the Oratory of St. Boniface.
