Anne Louise (Roehrig) Maas
1918-2017
Anne Louise Maas, 98, of Berwyn, Pa., passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 to be with her beloved husband, Albert A. Maas. She was born in 1918 in Philadelphia to Louise and Herman Roehrig . In 1942 she married the love of her life, Al. The two spent 54 years together before Al’s passing in 1996.
Together, they raised nine wonderful children, Albert (Joanne),Thomas (Jackie RIP), Anne Louise (Harvey RIP) Cooper, James (Sandra), Elizabeth (Lou) Houser, Mary, John (Debbie), Robert (Babette) and Margaret (Matt) Koehler, and later became devoted grandmother to 16 grandchildren. Anne is also survived by 9 great- grandchildren. She was also the “adoptive” mother to Irene, who lovingly cared for her over the past years. Anne was one of 5 children and is survived by her younger sister Mathilda.
Always ready with a warm smile, Anne had a sharp wit and an active mind, and was a dedicated parishioner in her Parish of 63 years. She enjoyed activities such as the Rosary Club, H.O.P.E Organizer, Bible Study and the Prayer Chain. Over the years she hand-made thousands of rosaries that were sent to the missions. She was very devoted to Our Lady and the rosary. She especially enjoyed her gardening and loved flowers. We were truly blessed to have enjoyed her presence for so many years!
Relatives and friends are invited to Anne’s visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.. followed by Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Monica's Church, 63 Main Ave, Berwyn, Pa. 19312. Interment at St. Monica Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Saint Monica Parish given in her name to the Needy of Saint Monica’s.
