

Fred was a longtime resident of Berwyn, PA. He was born on August 18, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to Silvio and Elvira Piotti. He graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic High School in 1950. He had a long and varied career in the steel industry with Penn Galvanizing and National Rolling Mills, rising from maintenance / repair to production division manager. His final work career involved facilities and project management for ServiceMaster Corp, primarily at Overbrook School for the Blind and Academic Properties at Drexel University.
The extended Piotti and McGuigan families and friends were blessed with his repair and construction talents in countless home repairs and renovations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silvio and Elvira and his brothers, Sylvester, James, Lawrence and Vincent and grandson Michael Matthew Thompson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Mary (McGuigan) Piotti, His three children, Michael (Maureen Madigan), Catherine (Duane Thompson) and Fred, Jr. (Maureen Golden). He was a loving Grandpop to Matthew, Andrew (Kelsey), Laura (Richard), Mary (Todd), Stephen, Fred III, Shawn, and Rebecca. He was a loving Great Grandpop to Natalie, Caden, Grant, Grace, Jackson, Louis, Silvio, Liam and Liliana. He is also survived by two sisters Fran (Street) and Marie Piotti.
Friends and relatives are invited to his visitation on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon at St. Norbert’s Church, 6 Greenlawn Road, Paoli, PA 19301 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon.
