Gwendolyn Rae Durante

She was a long time resident of Berwyn, Pa. Gwen was born on July 9, 1956 in New Albany, PA to parents, (Harold) Dean Hoyt and Sarah Amelia Crandel. She graduated from Wyalusing, PA in 1974. Gwen went on to establish a career as an administrative assistant, working for the Tredyffrin Easttown School District for 20 plus years.

Gwen loved gardening, shopping, making crafts and cooking. She also had a love for dogs. She loved to play volleyball with her neighborhood friends. But most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Gwen was preceded in death by her father Dean, her mother Sarah and her brothers David and Terry Hoyt.

Gwen is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gus, her daughter, Sarah (John) of Paoli, PA, her son, Gussie (Cait) of Wilmington, DE, 4 granddaughters, Teagan, Tenley, Hadley and Sloane, her siblings, Ed (Florida), Fred (Massachusetts), Susan (Maryland), Reese (North Carolina) and Roger (Pennsylvania).

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. She will return home to her family farm as her final resting place.

One of Gwen’s final wishes was “Don’t be sad for me, I’m at peace. Instead celebrate".
