

A long-time resident of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Henry was born on June 30, 1941 in Chestnut Hill to his late parents, Dorothy and Henry Close Sr. He graduated from Radnor High school in 1960 and continued his education at La Salle University where he would go on to earn a Master’s in Business and Marketing. Henry established a career as sales executive in the building materials industry, working for Peach Tree Window and Door company for over 12 years. After Peach Tree, Henry began his own business as a manufacturer’s representative. Mr. Close had also served in the United States Army Reserves .
Henry was an avid sports fan. He loved coaching his three sons in various sports, specifically baseball, which is where he earned the nickname “Coach”. He was also a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan. Henry spent many summers vacationing in Avalon, New Jersey, where he loved to drive his boat, and would eventually meet his wife Sandra.
Henry is survived by his wife Sandra (Kahremanis), his three sons Henry III, James, and Cameron, his brothers Richard, John, Thomas, his sister Nancy, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at St Katherine of Siena Church, 104 S Aberdeen Ave, Wayne, PA 19087. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am. Cremation and interment will be private.
