Joanne Frances MacGregor

Joanne was born in Bryn Mawr on March 31, 1967, to Joseph W. and Frances A. MacGregor. She dedicated 25 years to the Vanguard Group, serving as a risk analyst following her graduation from Immaculata University. Joanne’s lifelong passion for horseback riding began in her youth and continued through her volunteer work at Thorncroft Equestrian Center, where she cherished accompanying riders to annual Special Olympics competitions in State College, PA.

She found much joy in nature and traveling with her husband Scott. Joanne loved early morning hikes with her dogs, Leo and Chloe, boating in Maryland, and snowboarding in Colorado. She embarked on countless adventures with friends and family across the globe through the years.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Scott Emerson; her mother, Frances MacGregor; sisters Deborah Toth and Carol Emerson (Chris); nieces Brittany McCandless (Matt) and Elsa; nephews Sean, Kyle, RJ, Luke, and Kevin Jr.; as well as extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph MacGregor, and her sister, Susan MacGregor.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Alleva Funeral Home (1734 E. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli, PA 19301) from 9:30 a.m-11:30am; with a service to begin at 11:30 a.m.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will follow, beginning at 1:00 p.m. located at the farmhouse bordering Thorncroft Equestrian Center (194 Line Rd, Malvern, PA 19355).
