

Born in Lawrence, MA in 1928, John was the son of the late John G. Bravacos and Sadie J. Bravacos (Scully). John was predeceased by brothers George and Louis.
He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Anna Marie Bravacos (Sasso). Loving father of Julie (Randy) Siegele, John (Linda) Bravacos and Chris (Peggy) Bravacos. Dear grandfather of Christopher, Andrew, Patrick and Ali Siegele, John and Liz Bravacos, and Katherine, Michael and Annie Bravacos. Great grandfather of Marley and Xavier Siegele.
John loved his wife, his family and his life. He was a noted athlete and scholar, studying at Harvard and Tufts, before graduating from Mass Maritime Academy with an engineering degree and serving as an officer in the United States Navy. He played baseball in college and during his time of service in the Navy.
After working in Maine, New Jersey and Massachusetts, he moved his family to Paoli, PA in 1969 to co-found Eastern Controls, Inc., a successful business in suburban Philadelphia.
John volunteered as a little league coach, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, as a CCD teacher and founded a Catholic Education program while living in Hallowell, Maine.
He loved listening to and telling a great story, walking the hills of paoli, making omelettes and eating Italian meals and reading the funnies in the newspaper.
His wife Anna was the love of his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 East Lancaster Ave., Paoli. Viewing continues Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Norbert’s Church, 50 Leopard Road, Paoli with Funeral Mass following at 10:30. Interment at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In his memory, contributions to the Bethesda Project (www.bethesdaproject.org), 1630 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146, are preferred instead of flowers. `
