

Joseph R. Berry, passed away on April 26, 2015, age 82, of Malvern. He is survived by his wife Mary (nee McGarvey) who have been married for 61 years. Mr. Berry attended West Chester high school and then started working for the railroad as an electrician in 1950. In 1953 he served in the Coast Guard until 1957, after which he went back to the railroad and continuing working there until his retirement in 1994. He was the past Post Commander for VFW Post 5203 from 1993-1994. He coached Chester Valley little league and Babe Ruth from 1970-1980. He was an avid golfer and a big Notre Dame fan. He was very active in all his grandchildren sporting events.
In addition in to his wife he is survived by 4 children; Shelia (Robert) Stackhouse of Malvern, Maureen (Eric) Johnson of Malvern, Joe (Ellie) Berry of W. Chester and Donna (Dave) Laudadio of Kutztown. Also 8 grandchildren; Jason, Shane, Kyle, Tyler, Colin, Morgan, Ryan & Steven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, May 1st at 11:30 am at St. Patrick Church in Malvern. Int Philadelphia Memorial Park in Malvern. Visitation Friday morning 10:30-11:30 in the Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Coatesville VAMC, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA. 19320. Joe’s greatest passion was his love & devotion to his family.
