

Margaret Elizabeth Linsenbach (nee Smith) “Betty”, passed away on Tuesday June 16, 2020 at the age of 93. She was born at home in Devon, PA and was a twin of Katherine Smith who passed away at six months. Betty was the daughter of James and Kathleen Smith. Her father emigrated from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Betty grew up in Wayne and graduated from Radnor High school, class of 1944. Shortly thereafter, she married William “Fred” F. Baker (WWII Navy Veteran of Pearl Harbor). She has one son, James “Jimmy” F. Baker as well as daughter-in-law Patricia A. Baker (nee Green) of Berks County, PA. Betty lived most of her life in Paoli, PA and retired from AT&T in Wayne. She survived three husbands during her long life, that of Fred Baker, James McNeil and Carl Linsenbach. Betty had one grandson James M. “Matt” Baker of Berwyn, PA with wife Kristen. She has three beloved great grandsons: James D. “Jay” Baker, Nathan “Nate” Baker” and Andrew “Drew” William Baker also of Berwyn. Betty was a woman of strong Christian faith and was a long time member of Berwyn United Methodist Church. She had many friends and was loved by all. She kept her feisty personality until her final days on earth. Betty will be missed by many but her time finally came and she’s in a better place.
Arrangements
The funeral will be graveside at Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday June 22nd 2020 at 11:00 AM. The address for the cemetery is 490 West Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380. Because of COVID-19 the brief ceremony and burial will be held at her grave site with a outdoor luncheon gathering at the home of Matt & Kristen Baker immediately following the ceremony.
