Mariel was a Head Start teacher for the Philadelphia Public School System and influenced the lives of many young inner city children throughout her career. She made many friends, was always a kind to everyone around her and always made time to listen. She cared deeply for the welfare of animals and was always willing to help. Mariel was an art lover and had many periods over her life where she painted, sculpted and did photography.
Mariel is survived by her Sister: Daryl (Willis) Hoch and her Daughter, Rebecca (Danny McDaniel) Weber.
