

Born in Wayne October 21, 1926, he was the son of the late Antonio and Amelia (Falcone) Cappelli. Mario attended the Radnor Schools and was active in the Wayne Boy Scout Troop 1 from his youth through young adulthood. Mario was a Veteran of the US Navy. He was the Honor man of his company and served 2 years in Okinawa during WWII.
After he returned from the war, he attended and graduated from the George Baronian School of Watchmaking and worked as an apprentice. He then returned to his family stone masonry business “Tony Cappelli and Sons”. In addition to working with his father and brothers, Mario worked with Acme Markets for 43 years until he retired as the Dairy Manager in the Wayne Store.
Mario enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and sharing his life with his friends and family. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Strafford and served as an usher for many years. He was a committee member of the 100 year anniversary of the church, which was significant to him since his Father and Grandfather helped to build the original stone foundation of the church and the original chapel. He was a lifetime member of the Wayne Italian American Club and served as a board member and officer.
In addition to his beloved wife of 65 years, Mario is survived by his children: Stephen, husband of Henrietta; Natalie Innella, wife of Roy; MaryLisa Gregory, wife of Mark; Mark, husband of Lisa; and the late Valerie Ann Cappelli. Mario is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lauren Milewski (Brian), Christopher Innella, Sean McDermott, Audrey Shiomichi (Matt), Luciano and Gabriella Cappelli, Aidan and Ava Gregory; and two great grandchildren Macayle and Jake Milewski. He is also survived by his youngest brother Dante Cappelli and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, June 17, 2016, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the Sacred Heart Chapel at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Strafford, PA. Followed by a Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. Int. immediately following in the church cemetery.
