Mary Anne Suplee

Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Z. Suplee, III. The daughter of Dr. Eugene F. Carpenter and Marion Burtnett Carpenter, she was also predeceased by her dear siblings Eugene Carpenter, Sara (Sally) Arniel and Claire Byler.

Anne is survived by her beloved children Michelle McWilliams (Harry), William Z. Suplee (Mary), Stephanie Suplee Dey (William), Pamela Brechbiel (Michael McElwee) and Gwen Rodgers (Charles). One of her great joys was seeing her grandchildren Aaron Brechbiel (Megan), Juliana Suplee, Pierson Dey and Jack Dey and great grandchildren Declan Brechbiel, Shyanne Gregor, Hanna Gregor and Brandon Rodgers.

Anne grew up in Yeadon and Lansdowne and was a graduate of Yeadon High School class of 1947. She was a graduate of Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista Va. and Katherine Gibbs School In New York, New York. Anne and Bill met in High School and were married in 1952. They first lived in the home Bill built in Lansdowne before moving to Malvern. When their children were young, they spent the summers enjoying the beach at Long Beach Island with Bill’s family. Anne was also very involved in girl scouts with her daughters as well as volunteering at Paoli Memorial Hospital. Later, they purchased a home at Lake Naomi where the family continued to gather to enjoy the lake and time together.

Anne and Bill travelled extensively together and made many friends during their travels. They were also socially active and met regularly with their bridge club for many years. They enjoyed collecting antiques and furnishing their colonial era home. Anne worked alongside her husband in the stock brokerage firm for years. They were long standing members of Paoli Presbyterian Church.

Anne will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Paoli Presbyterian Church on September 18.
