Matthew Rhys Hartshorn

Matthew Rhys Hartshorn was a “miracle baby” born February 3, 1999 to Audrey and Dan Hartshorn. He was a sweet, sensitive child and quick to smile!! He was social, always helpful and easy to be around. In 2005, Matt welcomed a baby Brother, Zach, who he adored. No child ever wanted a little brother more than Matt and he continued to be a protective and teasing big brother. He graduated from Conestoga High School, worked various jobs in the area and made friends wherever he went. He loved music, taught himself how to play the guitar and keyboard, wrote many songs and had recently joined a band. Matt was bright, witty and had a sense of humor that he shared with a hearty laugh. He loved gathering with his family, especially his Uncle Gerry. More than anything, Matt wanted to love and be loved.

In December 2020, Matt and Zach’s Dad, Dan, passed away from complications of COVID and Matt was present and supportive of his Mom Audrey and Zach. Matt passed away at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Family, friends and neighbors are heartbroken that Matt’s life ended too soon.
