He attended the Latin School and graduated from Lower Merion High School after moving to Bala Cynwyd. He received his undergraduate degree from the Villanova Business School (class of ’58) and graduated from Penn Law School. After practicing law for a few years, Michael began a long and distinguished career in banking and finance. He held executive positions at banks based in Philadelphia, Chicago, New York and Paris. After working with several prominent investment firms, he retired 10 years ago as Senior Vice President of Financial Services at Oppenheimer in Philadelphia.

He was a member for more than sixty years, and was the President of the Graduate Table for more than 55 years. For several years, he chaired the Youth Work Foundation of the Union League, which provided recognition and scholarships to outstanding high school students and educated them on the roles and responsibilities of good citizenship.
Following his retirement, Michael enjoyed wintering annually on the west coast of Florida in Bonita Beach, where he smoked cigars and traded insults with myriad buddies from the Midwest, who referred to Michael as the mayor of the beach. He remained close to his family and his friends from high school and college throughout his life. He loved animals and was a dedicated pet sitter for friends and for neighbors at Weatherstone in Paoli, where he lived happily for 33 years. Michael was a long-time member of the Daylesford Abbey community.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Jennifer Mueller, his brothers Henry II (Marietta) and Angelo, his nephew Henry III and his niece Kathy Faragalli Stickley.
