

She was a longtime resident of Wayne/Valley Forge, PA (since 1968) and more recently the Shannondell Community in Audubon, PA. Previously she lived in Midland, MI and Williamsport, PA.
She was born in Des Plaines, Illinois on May 14, 1928 to Frank Baranski and Jeannette Jefferson Baranski.
Phyllis graduated from Maine East High School in Des Plaines where she was on the synchronized swim team, which led to a lifelong love of swimming. She went on to work for Owens Illinois in Chicago and after marriage, at Dow Corning in Midland, MI, in various office support positions. In Wayne/King of Prussia, she worked in the offices of JC Penney Stores and at the Baptist Headquarters for many years. Her primary job was raising four active boys and supporting her husband Ralph for 50 years.
Phyllis’ zest for life carried through to many activities. She was Chairperson of the St. Luke Church Altar Guild for 40 years, Newcomers President, Bicentennial Valley Forge Park Chairman and active in the Glenhardie Garden Club, having been awarded the “Daisy” a few times to celebrate her beautiful yard. She worked the voting polls for every election for over 20 years. She was excited to cross country ski at Valley Forge Park at every snowfall opportunity and loved to travel, especially to see grandkids, relatives & friends. She loved the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and Eagles. She played Bridge all of her life at least once a week. She was an avid reader and loved to discuss the books she had read.
Phyllis delighted in investing in the stock market and owned a variety of companies. To celebrate her 85th Birthday she went to the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Annual Meeting in Omaha, NE, with her grandson. Her favorite days were when she got a dividend check and a magazine in the mail.
Phyllis was loved by all for her smile, kindness, cheerfulness, and generosity. She loved to laugh! She was a woman of strong faith and her most cherished saying was ‘Always be truly grateful for all that the Lord has provided you’.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Edward Pfister; her parents, Jeannette Jefferson Baranski and Frank Edward Baranski; her brother, Frank Edward Baranski Jr. and her sons, Thomas Allan Pfister and David Brian Pfister.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Ronald R. Pfister and his wife Carol Leake Pfister of Ambler, PA and Palm Coast, FL, and her son Daniel J. Pfister of Dallas, TX, as well as her grandsons, Jason Pfister, Ryan Pfister, Kevin Pfister, and Todd Pfister. She has 4 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00am at Saint Luke Lutheran Church (203 N Valley Forge Road, Devon, PA 19333).
