

A resident of Somers Point, New Jersey, Robert English was born on 8/30/47 in Chester, Pennsylvania to parents, Clifford and Dolores English and raised in Folsom, PA. Robert graduated from St. James High School in 1965. After graduating high school he enrolled at The Citadel for one year. After one year at The Citadel, Robert enlisted in the Air Force in 1967. Robert served for 3 ½ years under a 4 star general during the war in Vietnam. After his service, Robert returned to Philadelphia and attended Temple University, earning a degree in Liberal Arts. In June 1971 he married his wife of 53 years, Rosella. Shortly after he married and graduated from Temple University he began a career in computer programming and what is now referred to as Information Technology. Robert continued his education by earning a Masters degree in Economics from Widener University in 1980.
Robert found his true calling as a Entrepreneur and business owner, taking a controlling interest in his first business venture in 1988. He continued this career as business owner in Information Technology until his retirement in 2020.
Robert was a true family man, always supportive of, and instilling a true sense of adventure in, his three children. He loved to travel and visited 6 continents, 42 states and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. Bob loved to take road trips and go camping with his beloved popup camper.
Robert is survived by his wife Rosella and his 3 children, Alison, Robert (Heather Cialella) and Philip; Robert is also survived by his seven grandchildren Samantha, Robert, Domenic, Matthew, Michael, Santino and Amelia. Robert adored his grandchildren. Papa was never too busy to offer to drive Samantha to a horse riding lesson or the boys to wrestling practice. He loved taking the grandkids for ice cream, camping in the back yard and just watching them grow.
Other passions in life included Bob and Rosella hosting their friends for dinner and sharing his wine collection with others. He loved going out with Rosella for musical and theater performances. At different times Bob and Rosella were members of the Philadelphia Opera Company, Philadelphia Orchestra, Walnut Street Theater and People’s Light and Theater Company. In addition to his family, Bob is also survived by his Brother in Law’s Anthony Stagliano, Mario Stagliano, Vincent Stagliano (Elisa Gallo) and his Sister in Law Connie DiTullio and many nieces and nephews and lots of great friends.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Delores English, and his sister-in-law, Theresa Stagliano.
Services for Bob will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Our Lady of the Assumption (35 Old Eagle School Rd, Wayne, PA 19087). A visitation will begin at 9:00am to 10:30am, with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00am. Following mass, the burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery (626 Baily Rd, Yeadon, PA 19050).
