Thelma Fischer left us peacefully on September 22, 2021 to reconnect with her loved ones who went to Heaven before her. She will be happy once again to be with her beloved husband of 52 years Jim, her daughter Joan, her sisters and many many friends who passed before her. Thelma was 99 years young.
Thelma was so very loved by everyone who had the privilege of being in her company. She was kind, caring and a sweet gentle person who many have said had a “sparkle in her eyes” throughout her entire life with a gentle presence and calming affect that fell over those she loved like a blanket.
Thelma was the beloved wife of James J. Fischer for 52 blissfully happy years until his passing in 1997.
She was the daughter of the late Helen and Warren Filbert.
Thelma was predeceased by her daughter Joan (Baines) Bezner, her sisters Dorothy (Filbert) Vives and Jacqueline (Filbert) Blaeuer.
She is survived by her grandaughter Carolyn Baines Farren (Joe) Farren, Christopher Baines, her great grandson Brandon Farren, her nephew James Vives, her nieces Janet Rowan, Helen Simms and also great nieces and nephews that she was very proud of.
She was born in Philadelphia on December 18, 1921 and later relocated and spent the bulk of her life in Delaware County, living in Aston Pa for over 40 years and then moving onto Springhill Florida in 1980 to live near her father until his passing at the age of 85.
Jim and Thelma built a brand new custom designed beautiful home in Florida where all were welcome to come and visit. They loved gardening and caring for beautiful half acre property and their pool area where they would float with their cocktails in the hot afternoons of the florida sun.
She traveled the world with Jim and went to places such as Haiti, Egypt, Jerusalem, Spain, and the entirety of Europe.
After Jim’s passing she continued to travel on cruises with her granddaughter Carolyn and her niece Janet which she loved looking forward to twice a year for 8 years. Such happy times for her and those of us who would spend time with her. Her family was everything to her and that included her friends which she included as family and people she loved.
She continued to reside in Florida after Jim’s passing until the age of 96 when she called her grandaughter and said “I’m coming back and moving in with you guys to be with my family” where she resided Brookhaven Pa. until her passing. She will be greatly missed and her love to all of us was unprecedented.
Her wishes were for a private burial.
