

Virginia Mae Allaband “Ginny,” age 92, passed away on Wednesday. December 31, 2025, at her home in Kennett Square Pennsylvania. Ginny was born May 25, 1933, in Elkton, Maryland to Sidney Bunker and Delia Hamblin Bunker.
Ginny served honorably in the USAF and had many passions and talents. She continued her work in telecommunications at West Chester State College. Over the years, she also held positions at Kennett Canning, the Anvil Inn coat room, and Kendal at Longwood, where she warmly welcomed guests in the medical dining room. She was also a cherished presence at KMC Dance and Gymnastics, where she was truly a blessing to everyone she met.
Ginny loved cooking and baking, especially at Christmas, when she joyfully made dozens of cookies and batches of fudge. An accomplished seamstress, she sewed children’s clothing when her kids were young, KHS Flag Twirler uniforms for the Kennett High School team, and both practice and competitive roller-skating outfits. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Her interests included collecting Beanie Babies and Temptations table and bakeware, shopping on QVC, backyard swimming, trips to Hershey Park and Dorney Park, and cherished summertime camping trips. Ginny always enjoyed the yearly family reunions, cooking her famous meatballs for the event.
Ginny is survived by her children and their spouses, Mark and Theresa Allaband, Karen and Norris Myers, Stephen and Donna Allaband; grandchildren, Julie and Shane Johnson, Norris Myers Jr., Merrill and Katie Mancher Myers, Stephen Allaband Jr., Jamie Shinn and Tyler Robinson, Nicole Shinn and PJ McNutt; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Avery, Aiden and Reagan, Colby and Blake, Cash, Charlie and Olivia, also many nieces and nephews, Sister-in-Law Marie Bunker; Shawn Elters, blessed pets, Sparky and Penny, Snipper, Flossie, Muppets, Tiny, Amber, Pippi and Hazel.
She was preceded in death by Martin “Bud” F Allaband, sisters and brothers, Doris Tharp, Marjorie Jones, Robert Bunker, Charles Bunker, Theron Bunker, Kenneth Bunker, Wayne Bunker, and Donald Bunker.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at KMC Dance & Gymnastics, 912 West Cypress St., Kennett Square, PA 19348, with Karen Myers, Stephen and Mark Allaband officiating.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Willow Tree Hospice and the Nursing Staff at Twin Pines.
