She will be remembered as a devoted, proud, and wise woman whose life was defined by service to others, steadfast love for family, and quiet strength in every season.
Born and raised in California, Becky was a lifetime Girl Scout whose spirit of service never left her. She earned a degree in accounting and dedicated her life to helping others in ways both large and small. In 1968, she began her career as a telephone operator before spending 40 years as a trusted tax preparer with H&R Block, where she built lasting relationships with the many families she served.
As a devoted Navy wife, Becky embraced the responsibilities and sacrifices of military life with grace and unwavering commitment. Her loyalty—to her husband, her family, and her country—was a defining part of who she was.
Becky is survived by her beloved husband, Pat Grant; her daughter, Dani Wheeldon, Dani’s husband, Andrew Wheeldon; and her cherished granddaughters, Mina and Ripley Wheeldon, who were the absolute light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Hassel; her nieces, Angie, Tracy, and Michelle; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Family was the center of Becky’s world. Her home was filled with tradition—holiday Chex mix made in big batches, pies cooling on the counter during the holidays, and cookies baked with love. She treasured the annual “Junk Jaunt” across Nebraska with her daughter-several days devoted to treasure hunting and the simple joy of time spent side by side.
An enthusiastic antiquing partner to her sister and family, Becky had a gift for finding beauty in the old and overlooked. She ran a craft business while raising Dani, alongside her best friend Libby, and never stopped creating. She loved old movies, puzzles, and crafting projects-many of which she worked on with her granddaughters. In her younger years, she was a roller-skating extraordinaire, and throughout her life she delighted in planting flower boxes and a wild garden. A collector of historical mementos, she cherished the stories behind every treasure she found.
Becky gave generously to her church and community. At St. Columbkille, she was deeply involved in the Holiday Assistance Program at Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Women’s Guild, Spirituality Alive, and many lively games of Bunco with friends. Wherever there was a need, Becky quietly stepped in. If she could lift someone’s burden, she did.
Her legacy is one of kindness, honesty, friendship, and putting others before herself. She loved to travel, stood firmly by her family, and was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, and an extraordinary grandma.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 9, 2026, at St. Columbkille Church, 200 E. Sixth Street, Papillion, Nebraska. Private family inurnment will take place at Omaha National Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at Bergan Mercy, and to the many family members and friends who walked alongside Becky and her loved ones during difficult days. Your care and support will never be forgotten.
