

David was born on July 11, 1964 in Omaha, NE to Franklin and Marjorie Lempke. He received his master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1988. On May 31, 1986, he married Melanie Lynn Huebner. David designed and built a home for his family in Papillion, NE, where they raised a daughter, Jenna, and two sons, Nicholas and Cole.
David pursued his passion as an architect in Omaha for the past 34 years. Some of his most cherished projects were The Holland Performing Arts Center, Joslyn Art Museum Sculpture Garden, The Orpheum Theater addition, SAC Headquarters, Baxter Arena, and Papio Bay. He was a follower of Christ and an avid musician, having played drums in the church band at both Trinity and Thanksgiving. David was a lover of the arts and served as a member of the board at the Omaha Playhouse. He was a kind, thoughtful, generous person who will be mourned by many.
David is preceded in death by his father, Franklin, and mother, Marjorie. He is survived by his wife, Melanie, his three children and their wives, Jenna, Nicholas (Lauren), Cole (Bailey), his sister Mary, his brother Marlin, and extended family members.
A visitation will be held at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary on Friday, August 12th from 5-7 pm. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 1:00 pm at Thanksgiving Church in Bellevue, NE.
