I just got the news of Don's death. I'm so sad over his passing. He was like a big brother and I really loved him. He will be missed.

What a sweet man he was!!  He always had an encouraging smile and seemed to truly love the kids at Gretna High School.   I think he must have been an amazing father as well.  Blessings to your family,

 So sorry to read about Don's death.  I remember the fun times we had in college, especially the summer we lived on G St.  He was a terrific guy and always a gentleman.

   I was deeply saddened to read of Donald's death in the OWH.  I was fortunate to be his first grade teacher,and although I haven't seen him for many years, have always remembered him with kind thoughts.  He was one of those "special" little boys that I could have taken home with me.

I enjoyed having Don Ozanne as both a P.E. teacher and also as a football coach and coaching me in the shotput and discus in Track.

What a great coach and teacher Mr. Ozanne was at Gretna High.  He touched many. many lives.

..was a great man to me in school and the few times I seen him as a realator.... RIP COACH

I am so shocked and sorry to hear that Coach O-Z has passed?!  Heartbreaking.  He was an awesome guy!  I knew him from Gretna High School, and ran into him a few times over the years (I think at Mavs games?)  What a sad loss.  All my love to his family.

Ozzie touched many of us. Though I have not had the opportunity to see Ozzie for several years I will always remember the friendship so many of us shared with him. I still cringe when I think of all of the times he ran over me in football, then would lean down with that smile of his and help me up. He never lost his smile. Connie and family, know he touched many people is such a fun and positive way. He will be missed. But you can bet he is still talking and smiling.

Don was my wrestling and football coach at Gretna.  I have many great memories of our time together and  always appreciated what he did for me and my teammates.  I am a better person because of my time spent with him.  He was a class act.

I am sad to have to pay my respects in this manner but also glad that I can say a few words. 

Connie, Jake, and Clark, as a youngster I spent many overnights at Grandpa's and Grandma's.  Don was always a great protector and completely unselfish in his actions.
As we grew older, both Don and Jim always showed their love for their sister and my Mother Wilma, and was always willing to support her in any way.
I know he will be missed by a great many but also know he passed on his life values to those who came into contact with him and especially his loved ones. Use that knowledge to continue living life as he did.

We have all lost a good one! The memories flood back to 3rd grade in Cozad and in later years rushing over to Mama Ozzie's for her fried rolls! What a treat. The achievements of our youth are minimized by Don's successes in life. He will be missed by many but never gone. Connie, I remember meeting you at All-State and then happy to see you again with Don when you started dating. Strength in your memories and know that Ozzie touched many and we share in your loss, although I cannot help but smile, as he would have it. Take Care

During my time caring for him and getting to know you all, it became quite clear that Don was an incredible husband and father.  I am so very sorry for your loss. I spent many memories with Don during our youthful days. We created some fantastic fun times in sports. Don you will truly be missed by your many friends. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. Rest in peace my friend. It was an honor to block for you now its your turn to block.
