Born on February 3, 1960, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Emmett was a devoted and faithful man, known for his humorous and resilient nature.
As a military brat, Emmett spent part of his childhood in Germany, where he played in the Little League World Series and learned to bowl—a passion he carried with him when he moved back to the United States. After graduating from Bellevue East High School in 1978, where he was in the marching band and played football, Emmett furthered his education at Bellevue College, where he also played baseball.
Emmett met the love of his life, Kimberly, in high school in 1977 reconnecting in 2003 at Leopard Lanes and married in August 2008, enjoying 17 wonderful years together. Predeceased by his mother, Virginia Williams, and brother, Van Williams. Emmett is survived by his loving wife Kimberly (Butson) Williams, father Emmett H. Williams Jr. (Judy), sisters: Tracey Littlejohn and Darlene (Mike) Schiefelbein, by his five stepdaughters: Heather (Jonathan Jenkins) Hirko, Quincy (Nathaniel) Stoddart, Krystal Hirko, Dava (Bryan) Nanfito, and Shayna Cornemann. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Carmine, Ragen, Evelyn, Natalia, Brooklyn, Luca, Franklin, Apollo, Giancarlo, and Ezra, a great-grandfather to Charlie, nephew Howard Lee, niece Alyssa Winston, great niece Ava Brentuo, and many loved ones.
Late 2007 Emmett was diagnosed with late-stage prostate cancer that later metastasized. He immediately started fighting back with surgeries, treatments, and trials. He continued working, bowling, and maintaining family/social life; all with a big smile, and positive outlook. In 2023, he started losing his eyesight, becoming a Siri aficionado providing answers for everyone’s questions.
Residing in Bellevue and recently Papillion, Nebraska, Emmett was a generous and selfless person who was kind-hearted and patient. He had a love for bowling, video games, tennis, baseball, football, Taco Bell, and was a big sci-fi fan, particularly of Star Wars and Star Trek. Emmett was known for his thoughtfulness, always wearing a smile and holding doors open for others until he couldn't. He left a legacy of teaching bowling to anyone who wanted to learn, sharing his passion and knowledge with the community.
