

Born in Ehrenfeld, PA on October 24, 1938 to the late Robert and Stella B. Sigg. Survived by his wife Linda of 56 years, son Martin Jr. (Jessica) Sigg and daughter Darcy (Chad) Jeffers, grandchildren; Kendell, Isabelle and Ethan Jeffers, brother Robert (Patty) Sigg and sister Barbara (Robert) Endler and beloved dog Oakley.
Graduated from Adams Summerhill High School in 1956. Attended the University of Pittsburgh/Penn State with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the State University of Plattsburgh, NY. A Masters degree from Auburn University in Public Administration. And a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Military career included pilot training at Lackland AFB, Bainbridge AFB and Vance
AFB. B52 pilot instructor/pilot at Turner AFB and Plattsburgh AFB. Flew 128 Combat missions over Vietnam. FB111 Air Craft Commander/Weapons Officer. Attended Command and Staff college in Montgomery, Alabama. Senior Duty officer at Osan AFB, Korea. Signal Officers School at Goodfellow AFB and was a Project Officer and Assist Branch Chief at WSA. Additional positions included Director of Operations (6944th Security Wing) Offutt AFB, Omaha NE.
After retiring from the military worked at Mutual of Omaha specializing in computer coding.
Marty liked to travel with his wife, visiting 48 states and many provinces in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. He enjoyed playing golf and excelled at downhill ski racing. Best remembered for hanging out with his buddies and returning home to PA every year for the September festival.
Final resting place, Omaha National Cemetery, Nebraska.
Will be sadly missed by all.
