Rodney V. O'Dowd

Rodney was one of nine children raised in Omaha. He attended Northwest High School where he was a star athlete in basketball. He also was a big fan of Husker Football, country music & Elvis. He had a wonderfully funny sense of humor, and a contagious laugh to match. Rodney wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone who needed it, as some would say “the go-to-guy.” Rodney ran O’Dowd Vacuum in Benson.

Rodney was a loving husband of 29 years to Connie and was the best father to three sons Travis, Skylar and Calvin.

He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy O’Dowd.

He is survived by his wife, Connie (Boardman) O’Dowd; sons, Travis, Skylar, Calvin; brothers and sisters Byron (Mary), Keith (Linnea), Darwin, Gerald (Michele), Vincent (Sherry), Yvonne, Marcella Shurts (Tim), Colleen Schroeder (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A luncheon gathering for family and friends of Rodney will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary, 441 N. Washington Street, Papillion, Nebraska 68046.
