worked with Tom many years. Always a good guy to be around

So sad, two of my childhood companions have left this earth.  Tom, Danny Radzweit,Ron Bettger and I, road to RHS every day.  These guys were my brothers. How fortunate I was to know Tom, he was a super guy.

Virginia just sent us the sad news.  Ralston will never be the same for us without a visit with Tom.  Thinking of you and your sadness at the holidays.

Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your husband and dad. I My brother and I used to play for all the dances the fire department had and it seems no matter where I was or what I was doing I would run into the Marrs man who would meet his boss at the old Granada Royale where I was in guest relations and then for many years I was the 911 Supervisor who dispatched the fire and rescue calls for Ralston. Tom was a happy go lucky guy that you would really enjoy whenever he was around. I am sure that God has a place for him in heaven. Its hard to say good bye to someone you love but he will never leave your hearts.

Tom will be missed by many.  He was always kind to everyone.  I haven't seen him or the family in many years but I do still think about them.  I was one of the kids connected to the fire department and it was one big family then. Tom and JoAnn use to be around my parents (Bill & Joan Larson) and I got to know the family that way and I got to go so school with Janelle when we got out of elementary. 
JoAnn & Kids & grandkids please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. You are very special people.

Tom's cheerful smile will be missed around the Omaha Street School. We all are praying for peace upon the family.

Tom was part of our golf group for many years. We played weekly at different courses around the area and always had a great time (even when the ball wouldn't co-operate). We will always be reminded of him when we play in the future. He was an unforgettable guy.-joe beardsley

Tom, I was deeply sadden today when I heard the news. You were always my favorite fireman. You were always so kind to me. You were good to my girls. And you stayed a good friend to Larry when there weren't many who wanted to stay a friend of his. That is a sign of a true friend. You always had a big smile and a dry sense of humor like mine. I will always remember you. The last time I saw you was a year and a half ago at Sandy's house. You had to come over there a couple of time to fix things for her so she could sell her house. I loved that we got to have that time together to talk and catch up with each others lives and family's. You were so proud to flip out your billfold and show your pictures of your grand-daughter that you were so proud of. I don't think the grand-son was born yet. You will be deeply missed Tom, but we all will have the memories of the fire department, trips to Okoboji and our fun filled ski trips. Who could forget all the fun and happiness we shared with you and the family. May God bless you and your loving wife Joan and the girls. You will be missed by all. Love- Madeline

What can I say about Tom other than he had such a dry sense of humor that some people didn't even get it.  Tom you always had a joke or a story to tell and I am sure you are finding new people to share with.  I am sure Bob has been waiting to play cards with someone. JoAnn, Tami, Susan and Janelle my heart breaks for you.  All my love and prayers!

Tom, Tom the Candy Man with a plan... We have always loved and admired you for your silly willy ways.  Your heart was made of gold and your soul was deeper than the deepest sea.

I remember spending the night with Janelle... and you would let us get away with jamming to Dolly Parton, even though you were tired from work and the station.  You made me smile when I didn't feel well... You and JoAnn always remembered to bring me a gift when I was in the hospital and you never stopped caring about me.

There were times when I needed to vent about something that frustrated me... you always had a kind way of changing my tune.

I am glad I came to see you, last month... lucky me, I got to see you twice!

You were an angel on earth and now... your powers have increased ten fold.  Enjoy Heaven, give God and the rest a big hug from me and remember... You are missed, here on earth.
