Betty Jean Melton

Betty Jean Melton, 85, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25th, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Moore and Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Detroit Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Betty, the daughter of Marvin & Odell Churchwell Nash, was born October 7, 1931, in Lamar County. She worked a number of years at Westinghouse. Betty was a longtime faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to The Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 1771 Bonham St., Paris, TX 75460. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L. T. “Tommy” Melton, a step-daughter, Theresa Toland, a grandson, Michael Toland, her brother-in-law, C. D. Adams, a nephew, Michael McMonigle and a niece, Amy Adams. Survivors include her sister, Mary Adams of Paris, grandchildren, Cathy Sloan and Steve Toland both of Arizona, nieces & nephews, Jim Adams & wife Linda of Paris, Debbie Brackett & husband Kenny of The Colony, Charles Adams & wife Pam of Plano and Jeff Adams & wife Stephanie of Aubrey, several grandnieces & grandnephews along with a plethora of friends.
