Donald N. Woods

Donald N. Woods, 74, of Hopewell, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8th, at the Gospel Lighthouse in Powderly with Rev. Chris Kelley & Rev. Ray Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Pyles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Woods, the son of John “Ollie” & Alice G. Crews Woods, was born July 20, 1942, in the Direct Community. He grew up at Garretts Bluff and attended school in Chicota. His career as a machinist at B & W spanned twenty-two years before he began working at Phillips Lighting where he was a machinist for fifteen years before his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Kay Hillmon Woods, whom he married on June 2, 1961, building 55 years of family and memories, four sons, Don Woods of Hopewell, Rick Woods of Hopewell, Tim Woods & wife Lisa of Hopewell and Kenneth Woods & wife Sandy of Saginaw, three grandchildren, Taylor Ueckert & husband Travis, Brandon Woods and Amber Norris & husband Steven, two great grandchildren, Hagen and Cooper Norris along with a host of friends. Casket bearers will be: Brandon Woods, Travis Ueckert, Steven Norris, Mike Vaughn, Clyde Taylor and Lonnie Moore.
